Why quantum computing is a threat to cybersecurity, Wall Street Journal, Aug 2026

Big tech, government agencies, and global banks are all racing toward the same finish line: post-quantum cryptography.

With NIST establishing standards and aggressive compliance targets set between now and 2035, the transition is officially underway. Tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Cloudflare are already targeting 2029 for full quantum-resistant encryption, while platforms like Apple’s iMessage and Signal have already implemented it.

Our CEO & Founder Ali Kaafarani shared in a recent Wall Street Journal article that migrating entire systems to post-quantum standards takes years. It might require a hybrid approach – combining legacy encryption with post-quantum algorithms, to maintain security without interrupting legacy operations during the shift.

Whether you’re managing federal infrastructure or enterprise software, the transition isn’t coming – it’s already here.
