PQShield features in the Spotlight… again!

As global attention continues to turn towards protecting against the impending quantum threat, we at PQShield are more driven than ever to help governments and companies across the world in their journey to quantum preparedness.

It’s been exciting to see our expertise in post-quantum cryptography research and products increasingly in the spotlight, not only being recognised by leading institutions but also being featured in major media outlets.

A leading voice in post-quantum cryptography

Our founder and CEO Dr. Ali Kaafarani recently caught up with John Thornhill, the innovation editor at the Financial Times, to discuss how the latest post-quantum cryptography standards from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is helping to protect against the looming threat of quantum computers. Ali was quoted alongside renowned mathematician Professor Peter Shor and director-general of Britain’s MI5 Ken McCallum, highlighting the significant contributions PQShield and other experts have made in shaping new PQC standards, and nodded to how the 2nd Oxford Post-Quantum Cryptography Summit 2023 we co-hosted in September moved the industry forward.

Taking the dialogue further into Europe, Ali connected with Jens Ohlig, Cybersecurity Editor at German national newspaper Tagesspiegel. After a candid chat about Ali’s background as a researcher, delved deep into the quantum threat, and the urgency for action, Jens wrote a profile feature on Ali’s work at PQShield – for our German readers the full interview can be read here.

Recognition in the tech world

In early October, we were humbled and proud to announce that PQShield had been selected as one of WIRED’s Trailblazers for 2023. Recognized as a company “operating at the edge of innovation”, our inclusion signifies the groundbreaking work coming from Oxford and the UK more broadly. Alongside other visionary leaders and pioneering Oxford-based companies, we’re on a mission to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our era. Our quantum-safe cryptography stands at the forefront of these innovative solutions.

The accolades didn’t stop there. Bloomberg spotlighted PQShield as one of the 25 UK Startups to Watch in 2023, which recognises the most innovative startups in the country. This recognition speaks to the exceptional quality of our quantum-safe cryptography research and products as well as our world-class team, as we forge ahead to secure a quantum-protected future.

Thank you for being a part of our journey, and stay tuned for more exciting developments as we continue to push the boundaries of post-quantum cryptography!
