Meet the Team: Borja García, Senior Firmware Engineer

Borja García is a Senior Firmware Engineer with over 1.5 decades of experience building software that talks directly to hardware — reliably, securely, and often under tight constraints. At PQShield, he works at the intersection of embedded platforms and post-quantum cryptography, contributing in a co-design environment where firmware and hardware evolve together. He closely collaborates with the hardware team and supports other groups across the company with firmware-related challenges. Borja is drawn to problems that demand deep technical insight, deliberate design, and a bit of healthy stubbornness — whether it’s crafting safe abstractions over bare-metal code or pushing performance on constrained systems. What drives him is the opportunity to work on meaningful technology alongside people who care. At PQShield, he’s found both: a sharp, collaborative team and the chance to help shape the future of secure computing.

When he’s not at the keyboard, Borja likes to unplug — literally. He spends time outdoors with his kids, reads about finance and markets, and sometimes takes the long route, just to see where it leads.
