Transitioning to PQ/T with minimal integration effort
The roadmap to full PQC might involve transitioning in stages. Defending against future threats requires crypto-agility, and it’s likely that systems will need hybrid solutions, where existing cryptographic defenses work alongside new post-quantum algorithms in a so-called PQ/T hybrid. This means that ease of integration really matters, alongside optimal performance. In addition, hardware can be vulnerable to side-channel attacks, where information can be detected from chips by listening in on the way they operate during certain operations. A comprehensive, powerful, but easy to implement solution is needed.
PQPlatform-SubSys
PQPlatform-SubSys is a powerful combination of PQShield’s lattice-based and hash-based coprocessor PQPlatform-CoPro, with a RISC-V CPU and memories. It’s a self-contained solution that doesn’t require power or memory from an existing system, meaning that cryptographic processes can be offloaded for maximum performance. With a high level of integration, PQPlatform-SubSys is ideal for accelerating PQC and classical cryptography, for deploying a hybrid secure boot, and for providing PQShield’s world-leading side-channel protection.
