Side-channel protection
With the threat of harvest-now-decrypt-later, side channel protection is an important consideration. A side-channel attack uses the detection of physical effects of hardware, such as power usage or timing detection to extract information about processes being performed. However, for most scenarios, implementing effective side-channel defenses can be costly, and occupy a large footprint. For IoT devices, or other memory-constrained implementations, maximum protection is required with a low drain on resources.
PQPlatform-Lattice
As leading experts on SCA (side-channel analysis) protection, PQShield have condensed their expertise into the smallest footprint available, supporting FIPS 203 ML-KEM and FIPS 204 ML-DSA. The result is PQPerform-Lattice. In its smallest configuration, SHA-3 functionality is performed by the PQShield firmware to keep hardware resources at a minimum and to implement SCA.
